15 Letter Words

15 letter words for Scrabble and Words with Friends

The maximum length a word can have in a game of Scrabble and Words with Friends is 15 letters. The reason lies in the board and not on the dimensions of the words themselves. Scrabble has a board divided into a 15 x 15 grid while in Words with Friends the grid dimension is 14 x 15.

Building a 15-letter word is very uncommon. The only way to do it is by adding letters to a preexisting word on the board, changing it to something different each time until the full word occupies a complete row or column of the board.

Common 15-letter words include INTERNATIONALLY, COMPETITIVENESS, CONVERSATIONS, and OVERSENSITIVE.

What are the lowest-scoring 15-letter words?

The low-scoring 15-letter words contain only tiles that are worth 1 point. This means that the total value of said words will be 15 points.

There are not many terms with this length and value. However, a few examples include TERRITORIALISTS, IRRATIONALITIES, or RATIONALISATION.
